豐饒之地 Land of plenty

溫德斯2004年的作品，

在看衝擊效應的時候，我腦中不斷的重複著，「豐饒之地」裡的一個畫面，當Lana坐在車上，開過洛杉磯的街頭，看到的，不是我們印象中的洛杉磯，而是一個殘破、荒涼的街景，那個畫面對我來說，比Crash整部電影還來得震撼…

「信仰國家」或是「信仰上帝」？美國曾經是人人夢想中的國度，豐饒之地，只要來到這裡，就可以呼吸到自由的空氣，有無窮的希望。但是當Lana坐在休旅車上，緩緩的經過街頭時，我們看到了豐饒之地的另外一個角落，洛杉磯的貧民區。這是個在洛杉磯不受關注的地區，沒有人會報導這個角落，他們只在意好萊塢的明星們今天又鬧了什麼緋聞？小布希如何攻打伊拉克？

是一隻從天而降的火鳥毀了這一切嗎？不，美國就像主角Paul一樣，在911後，充滿了恐懼、懷疑、不安，企圖在一片混亂中，找出一個真兇，他們懷疑街上所有的阿拉伯人，每個人都可能是奧薩瑪 賓拉登。但是，在恐懼和懷疑中，他們曾經回頭看過嗎？豐饒之地的內部，早已殘破腐化，不是兩台波音客機就可以把美國搞成這樣。

Lana對Paul說，在中亞，當七四七客機撞上雙子星大樓的時候，親眼見到民眾衝到大街上慶祝，他們不是恐怖份子，他們只是一般民眾。

Paul茫然的問：「為什麼？」

「因為他們恨我們，他們恨美國」…

種族歧視、貧富差距擴大、加上無恥的政府，這塊號稱「民族熔爐」的土地，自由的國度，已經蒙上了一層不可磨滅的巨大陰影。
