The Arcade Fire- Funeral

加拿大的Indie樂隊，一張以葬禮為的名的專輯。

一直到現在才聽過這個加拿大樂隊或許是有點晚了，The Arcade Fire似乎已經從2004開始紅到現在，不知道是不是從Godspeed You! Black Emperor這個加拿大的後搖滾天團開始，只要是從加拿大蒙特婁出來的樂團，不帶個五六個人以上、七八種幾種樂器感覺就遜掉了。The Arcade Fire雖然沒有這麼像GY！BE這麼誇張，只有五個人組成的樂隊，Win Butler跟Regine Chassagne這對夫妻檔是樂隊的核心人物，再加上吉他手、貝斯手、鼓手，但可不要以為他們表演的樂器就這樣簡單，木琴、手風琴、小提琴還有一些弦樂器都可以在他們的專輯裡聽到，也因此讓整張專輯有龐克、民謠的風格，甚至帶點古典的旋律…

不知道為什麼，每次我喜歡的樂團或專輯，總是會跟黑暗、死亡扯上一點關係，像是Joy Division、Explosions in the sky、還有最近一個很暗黑團名的I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness。The Arcade Fire的這張專輯Funeral「葬禮」，聽名字也知道不是可以讓人快樂得起來的專輯，據說是因為在錄製這張專輯期間，The Arcade Fire的團員裡有親友去世，這種切身之痛，或許是悼念，或許是悲痛，讓他們寫出了這樣的歌，整張專輯大部分都圍繞著死亡的主題打轉，主唱Win有點歇斯底里的唱腔和嘶吼，和妻子Regine有點飄忽不定的聲音，很貼切的營造出Funeral的氣氛。前兩首歌Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)跟Neighborhood #2 (Laika)的旋律令人百聽不厭，Une Annee Sans Lumiere有點民謠的風格，最後一首歌In the Back Seat，以Regine神秘而哀戚的歌聲作為結束… kong
